Grupo Salinas, Fundación Azteca America and Azteca America Colorado Present “The State Of Latinos: 2008 Colorado Town Hall Meeting” .

LOS ANGELES, May 21, 2008 –
Fundación Azteca America and Azteca America
Colorado present “Agenda Latina 2008,” an issues
forum that will allow top national community
leaders and a live studio audience to express
concerns of the Latino community on May 30.
The event will be taped before
a live studio audience and broadcast nationally
on Azteca America in early June. Guests include
top national leadership of Congressional
Hispanic Leadership Institute, Labor Council for
Latin American Advancement, Latino Issues Forum,
League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC),
National Association of Elected and Appointed
Officials (NALEO), National Council of La Raza,
NDN, Republican National Hispanic Assembly and
Voto Latino.
“We are at a crucial moment
when it comes to the needs and rights of the
Latino community, and this is an excellent
opportunity for some of the leading Latino
community leaders to create a common agenda,”
said Luis J. Echarte, Chairman of Fundación
Azteca America.
Darrell Brown, General Manager
and Vice President of Denver’s 7 and Azteca
America Colorado added “Azteca America Colorado
is proud to provide the platform and meeting
place for this important town hall dialogue. The
televised event marks not only a milestone for
our local station and the Azteca America Network
but it makes Colorado broadcast history as
well.”
Azteca America is joining
efforts with national partners to inform,
motivate and empower Latinos to become
politically aware and active and to discuss
relevant issues, such as the economy, health,
education, immigration and the Latino vote.
Viewers will have the
opportunity to submit questions via the Azteca
America websites and through video submissions
by affiliates nationwide.
The forum will be moderated by
Noticiero Azteca America Washington
Correspondent and Issues: Caras and Voces host
Armando Guzman together with Colorado radio
broadcaster Fernando Sergio from Denver’s Radio
Qué Bueno.
Confirmed participants include
Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, US Senator Ken
Salazar, and US Congressman Mark Udall.
