Resolution - Department of Justice Investigation of the Flores Family Murders Resulting From Home Invasion in Arivaca AZ by hate Group Members
Whereas, LULAC is the Nation oldest and largest Latino Organization
dedicated to civil
rights; and
Whereas, on May 30, 2009, nine year old Brisenia Flores and her father Raul
Flores
were murdered in their home in Arivaca, Arizona, and Mrs. Flores
hospitalized by gunshot
wounds; and
Whereas, the perpetrators/ murder suspects are members of certain Minuteman
/ "hate
groups," operating in the border region and the serious implications
therefore; and
Whereas, the United States Justice Department has jurisdiction over hate
crimes and
civil rights issues; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, we the undersigned strongly support the National
LULAC President Rosa Rosales' letter to the United States Justice Department
requesting a full investigation of the incident.
FURTHERMORE, we request that this resolution be approved at the Arizona
LULAC
Convention and forwarded to the national LULAC convention to become a
national
legislative priority.
