Whereas, The League of United Latin American Citizens is
the nation's oldest and largest Latino organization, founded
in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 17,1929, and

Whereas, throughout its history has committed itself to the
principles that Latinos be accorded equal rights before the
Law and equal access to the opportunities in employment,
education, housing, health care, and historically promoted
the School of Four Hundred, which became the prototype of
the nation's Head Start Educational Program, for the
					educational help of children; and

Whereas, there is a disturbing national trend wherein
children, including Latino children, like Sandra Cantu of
Tracy, California, have been tragically murdered, abused,
and their God given human rights violated, The League of
United Latin American Citizens is urged to promote the
personal safety of children in their homes, neighborhoods,
schools, and wherever children live, play, and walk. The
League of United Latin American Citizens is urged to promote
the end to the kidnapping and killing of children, both
young boys and girls, and that they be protected from
pedophiles, from adults with intentions to harm children in
anyway physical, mental, social, and in their health; and

Whereas, there have been too many children historically
kidnapped, killed, sold for monetary profits by adults, let
it be resolved that The League of United Latin American
Citizens will vigorously promote the safety of children; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that National League of United
					American
Citizens believe in the safety of children and will promote
the Safety of Children in all
environments wherein children find themselves, in their
homes, neighborhoods, schools, public places, and herein
name this promotion of Safety of Children the Sandra Cantu
					Safety Program for Children.

Approved this 18th day of July 2009.
