WHEREAS, LULAC is concerned about the stability of oil prices TO HIGH OR TO LOW and its Impact on Oilfield Workers, many of who are Hispanic, for example in West Texas where 80% of the workers are Hispanic.

LULAC supports state and Federal efforts to stabilize the price of oil and gas to prevent displacement of Hispanic Oilfield Workers. Additionally, LULAC supports Federal Tax incentives to the domestic oil producers, and to reduce dependency on foreign oil.

Additionally, LULAC supports working with Congress on building additional oil and gas refineries and the Department of Energy on high gas prices at the pump.
