Resolution - Dismissal of Secretary of Homeland Security

WHEREAS, the Director of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, has embarked on a crusade to harass, intimidate, deport, and harm innocent children of undocumented worker families; and, WHEREAS, Homeland Security and other law enforcement forces have descended on major employers of immigrants forces and have terrorized parents of children, who are left unattended at home and school; and, WHEREAS, mothers of these children have been imprisoned in detention centers like the “Hutto Detention Center” creating the modern version of American Concentration camps; and, WHEREAS, many of these children, detained with their mothers, are native born US Citizens; THEREFORE, LULAC calls for the immediate dismissal of Secretary Michael Chertoff, Director of Homeland Security, for his total failure in the treatment of these U.S. citizen children.
