Resolution
RICHARD LAFUENTE AND REYES RODRIGUEZ
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Innocence project and
Citizen against Judicial Injustice (CAJI) have
been involved and support Richard Lafuente’s
freedom from Prison; and
WHEREAS, Richard Lafuente has
served 22 years for a crime he did not commit;
and
WHEREAS, On August 28, 1983,
Eddie Peltier was brutally murdered in North
Dakota at the Fort Tottem Indian Reservation;
and
WHEREAS, Richard Lafuente has
been denied parole unless he signs a form or
confession of guilt; and
WHEREAS, Richard Lafuente will
not sign a confession because he states that he
is not guilty; and
WHEREAS, Texas Monthly
Magazine wrote a story about Richard Lafuente
Plight for Justice; and
WHEREAS, all of Eddie
Peltier’s family have stated that Richard
Lafuente is innocent and that he did not murder
Eddie and Richard Lafuente should be set free;
and
WHEREAS, all the new evidence
and witnesses are not being heard by the
Prosecution and continue to do an injustice to
Richard Lafuente; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota
Innocence Project and CAJI prays that the League
of United Latin American Citizens, adopt the
resolution for Richard Lafuente “Plight for
Justice”; and
THEREFORE, we are asking the
“League of United Latin American Citizens” to be
involved in Richard Lafuente’s freedom from
prison and support his “Plight for Freedom”
