IMPROVE TRANSPORTATION IN TEXAS

WHEREAS, Amtrak has the assets to create a southern triangle system in Texas linking the cities of Laredo, San Antonio, and Brownsville; and

WHEREAS, Amtrak has the ability to provide a reasonable schedule of services to affected area; and

WHEREAS, Amtrak is currently providing services such as Dallas to Oklahoma City and back; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Texas state convention go on record as urging Amtrak to establish a southern triangle linking the cities of Laredo, San Antonio, and Brownsville, and

FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that Amtrak includes Texas LULAC in the planning and development process to insure our citizens are adequately and fairly served in a timely manner.
