Resolution
NEW GALVESTON CAUSWAY BE NAMED
AFTER JUAN SEQUIN
WHEREAS, the League of United
Latin American Citizens support the purpose of
fostering and enlarging the opportunities for
training, education, civil rights, job
opportunities, housing, economic development and
welfare of all Hispanics in the United State;
and
WHEREAS, our
organization requests that the New Galveston
Causeway (currently under construction) be named
for Texas hero “The Juan Sequin Memorial
Causeway.”
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,
That at the LULAC District VII Convention held
in Houston, Texas on the 17th day of
April of 2004, LULAC District VII of Texas by a
majority vote of those present, voted in favor
of the motion,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
THAT, The New Galveston Causeway be
named for Texas Hero: Juan Sequin,
Sylvia Gonzalez
