Resolution
Supporting the construction of
a recreational facility in Texas for the use of
Disabled American Veterans of Texas
WHEREAS, residing in Texas, at
the present time, there are thousands of
Disabled American Veterans of World War II, the
Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War,
Desert Storm, Aphinistan; and day to day, the
number of disabled veterans is increasing in
view of the on-going war in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, in
Texas, at the present time, there is not a
recreational facility for the use and enjoyment
of Disabled American Veterans residing in Texas
and their families; and
WHEREAS, there
are federal funds available for projects and/or
programs that tend to assist and/or for the
benefit of Disabled American Veterans; and
WHEREAS, “The
Jose M. Lopez, CMH, Veterans LULAC Council of
San Antonio, Texas” has commenced the gigantic
task of promoting the construction of a
recreational facility for the use and enjoyment
of Disabled American Veterans and their families
in Texas; and
WHEREAS, 2004
Annual State LULAC Convention and the 2004 State
Convention of the Democratic Party of Texas has
passed resolutions supporting the construction
of a recreational facility in Texas;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the 2004 Annual LULAC
National Convention, convened in San Antonio,
Texas, go on record as supporting the
construction in Texas, of a recreational
facility for the use and enjoyment of Disabled
American Veterans and their families; and
FURTHERMORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that a copy of this
Resolution, passed by the League of United Latin
American Citizens be made part of any project
proposal that may be presented to the United
States Congress by a duly elected member of the
United States House of Representatives or by a
duly elected member of the Senate of the United
States.
