Resolution in support of minority San Antonio City Councilmen Enrique “Kike” Martin and Raul Prado, and minority former City Administrative Assistant John Delgado
 

WHEREAS, The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is the nation’s oldest and largest Latino organization, founded in Corpus Christi Texas on February 24, 1929; and 

WHEREAS, the LULAC passed a resolution Dec. 7, 2002 supporting this case and; ref. attachments; and 

WHEREAS, the United States Constitution grants every individual the right to Due Process regardless of Race, Color, or Creed; and 

WHEREAS, two Minority former City Councilmen Enrique “Kike” Martin, Raul Prado, and a Minority former City Administrative Assistant John Delgado (Defendants) have been accused and indicted on alleged charges of wrong doing while in office; and 

WHEREAS, these three former Public Servants have endured tremendous and relentless negative publicity by the mass media in such a manner which has given the public the perception of guilt without having the proper Due Process in a Court of Law afforded to every United States Citizen; and  

WHEREAS, the State of Texas, primarily the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office has produced an indictment which has been amended three times but still continues to lack clarity, specificity and conciseness as prescribed by law; 

NOW Therefore, Be It Resolved, that LULAC stands firmly behind the United States Constitution, that Laws which are written specific should be granted to every citizen without prejudice to Race, Color, Creed and/or Political origin; and 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that LULAC respectfully asks that her Honor, Judge Mary Roman in the District Court 175th, Judicial District, Bexar County, Texas, having read Defendants Counsel’s Motion To Quash adhere to and give special attention the Case Law provided; and 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that LULAC joins with the Community of Latino Churches, finding Defendants Counsel’s Motion to Quash has met its objective to the letter of the law, again asks respectfully that Defendants Counsel’s Motion to Quash be accepted as binding to the court
