Supporting the Orphanage Food Assistance Project of the Gus Garcia LULAC Council No. 4817
 

WHEREAS, since 1996, a number of San Antonio, Texas, businessmen and professional men, have been assisting Casa hogar Elim Orphanage in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico; and 

WHEREAS, those businessmen and professional men are now members of LULAC of the Gus Garcia LULAC Council No.4817; and 

WHEREAS, at the present time there is a dire need for food to feed the 99 children at Casa Hogar Orphanage; LULAC council has formed “The Sharing of the Thirty-Six Committee”; wherein, on a given month, a member of the Committee makes a small monetary contribution to purchase monthly, a sack of beans, a sack of potatoes, and a sack of rice; which, in turn is delivered each month to Casa Hogar Orphanage in Nuevo Laredo Mexico; and 

WHEREAS, LULAC Council has plans to increase the monthly food assistance that is presently being given to Casa Hogar Orphanage. 

NOW THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2004 Annual LULAC State Convention go on record as supporting LULAC Council No. 4817 efforts to increase the food assistance presently being given to Casa Hogar Orphanage of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico;

FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the resolution to support LULAC Council No.4817 plan to increase the food assistance to Casa Hogar Orphanage of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, be introduced at the 2004 Annual LULAC National Convention in San Antonio, Texas.
