Supporting the Life and Work
of Frank Del Olmo
WHEREAS, Frank Del Olmo was one
of the early Latino leaders at a major media
organization; and
WHEREAS, Frank
Del Olmo rose through ranks of the L.A. Times as
an intern, full time reporter, associate editor,
and became the first Latino to be listed as the
L.A. Times masthead; and
WHEREAS, Frank
Del Olmo received a Pulitzer Prize for
meritorious public service for a series on the
Latino community in Southern California; and
WHEREAS, Frank
Del Olmo was a positive role model, opened the
doors for scores of Latino journalists and
extended a long lasting impact in the
development of both the Latino market and the
journalism profession; and
WHEREAS, Frank
Del Olmo was a voice for the Latino community
and the conscience of the Latino community; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,
that LULAC salutes and commends the life and
work of Frank Del Olmo.
