Resolution
 

On Commending Elsie Valdez and Ending the Persecution of LULAC Members in Puerto Rico by the 2003-4 National Government
 

WHEREAS, Elsie Valdez, an American citizen of high integrity, moral and human values is an exemplorary role model in the defense of human and civil rights; and  

WHEREAS, Elsie Valdez consistently devote her life to the ideals of freedom, justice , democracy and equality for all Americans, especially Latin American citizens; and  

WHEREAS Elsie Valdez is a loyal and dedicated LULAC member for over fifteen years serving in different leadership positions including Vice President of the South East; and  

WHEREAS, Elsie Valdez, under the 2000-2004 Puerto Rico’s government administration, suffered discrimination, political persecution and unfair removal from her job as American History Professor at the Department of Education of Puerto Rico. 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that LULAC unconditionally supports, praise and commend Elsie Valdez for her valuable contributions to LULAC; for her great job as American History professor; for being a consistent and effective defender of human and civil rights; and for her loyalty to her US citizenship; 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that LULAC demands an end to the unfairness, discrimination, injustice and persecution to any member of LULAC by the 2000-2004 Puerto Rican government administration.
