Resolution
Supporting a disabled Person’s
Project
WHEREAS, at the present time, there is a
great need for physically disabled persons to be
individually involved in self-involved
assistance programs; and
WHEREAS, a San
Antonio physically disabled person, who, in good
faith has been promoting the concept, that in
and around San Antonio, Texas there is a
substantial number of physically disabled
people. Therefore, there is a need for
physically disabled self-involved assistance
projects; and
WHEREAS, Joe F.
Riojas, himself a physically disabled person,
and a member of LULAC Council No. 4817, during
the past years has researched and tentatively,
has formulated a physically disabled program
geared toward a self-assistance and
self-involved disabled persons program entitled,
“Help Us, Help Ourselves”; and
WHEREAS, LULAC
Council No.4817 has endorsed the program
propounded by Brother Riojas, under the title of
“Help Us, Help Ourselves”;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the 2004 Annual LULAC
State Convention go on record as supporting the
“Help Us, Help Ourselves” project for physical
disabled self-assistance focused on the personal
capabilities of physically disabled persons to
help themselves.
