COMBAT HIV/AIDS WITHIN THE LATINO COMMUNITY
 

WHEREAS, the incidence of HIV/AIDs continues to rise among Latinos in disproportionate number thereby threatening the well-being and future of our community; 

WHEREAS, the need for ongoing education and awareness is critical in the stemming of the spread of this devastating pandemic should be at the forefront of LULAC’s health care agenda to ensure the wellness of our women, men and particularly, our children and youth; and 

WHEREAS, LULAC must develop a strategy to address and prevent the spread and incidence of HIV/AIDs within the Latino community. 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS

  1. LULAC should develop a strategy to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS within the Latino community, and the treatment of individuals infected and/or affected by the ravages of the health crisis; and,

  1. LULAC’s commitment to the well-being of our community and the future health and safety of our children should be addressed in a plan of action developed by the national LULAC office for implementation throughout our nation and the world.
