Resolution
Information Campaign for
Scholarship Awareness
WHEREAS, Latinos have served
and continue to serve as soldiers in the U.S.
Military in disproportionate numbers some have
offered the ultimate sacrifice of their lives;
WHEREAS, many
Latinos join the service for the economic and
social benefits such as the benefits of
financial aid for colleges;
WHEREAS, LULAC
supports higher education such as college level
study;
WHEREAS, LULAC
has various scholarship funds to offer Latinos
who wish to pursue a college education;
WHEREAS, Latinos
have the option for going directly to college
instead of directly enlisting in the armed
forces after high school;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that LULAC initiate a campaign
to bring more information about scholarships to
Latino students so that they choose education as
the means to attain their aspirations and
dreams.
