To Acknowledge the Important Role of Women and Their Accomplishments in this Nation’s History
 

WHEREAS, The League of United Latin American Citizens, the largest and oldest national civil rights organization has advocated on behalf of women’s equality throughout the history of the organization. 

WHEREAS, The significant role that women share in our society shall be acknowledged and honored within the League’s membership, staff, programs and allocation of resources. 

WHEREAS, The challenges facing women in areas of employment discrimination, access to higher education, health care, legal assistance and business capitol, shall be addressed through meaningful action at the local, state and federal levels. 

WHEREAS, The prevalence of AIDS/HIV in the Latino population has seen an alarming rise in the numbers affecting Latina women and children. 

WHEREAS, The prevalence of AIDS/HIV in the Latino population has seen an alarming rise in the numbers affecting Latina women and children. 

WHEREAS, In this era of budget cuts for social and health programs, the Latino population and others of limited economic means are most often those that suffer from the lack of resources in AIDS/HIV prevention and medical care funding. 

WHEREAS, The League of United Latin American Citizens will vigorously advocate for increased funding for services and education in the fight against AIDS/HIV at the local, state and federal levels as a significant issue facing women in our society.
