Hispanic Representation in the U.S. Federal Government Service
 

WHEREAS, U.S. federal government operations are best managed with inclusion of the wisdom, quality and capability extant in its employees and; 

WHEREAS, that wisdom includes an understanding of the diverse cultures and patriotic values inherent in the nation’s citizens and; 

WHEREAS, having a firm understanding of these cultures in federal government employees having a command of the English language and other languages represented by the nation’s people and; 

WHEREAS, documented evidence exists to show that Hispanics are the only underrepresented U.S. ethnic minority under represented in the federal service; 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that as members of LULAC we will continue to support Executive Order 13171, Hispanic Employment in the Federal Government, promulgated to improve the representation of Hispanics in federal government employment, also; 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, to lend support to those groups who are effectively at the forefront to ensure implementation of this Executive Order, and; 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, to demand that Congress approve legislation for establishing a bi-partisan accountability board to oversee the effective and expedient observance of said Order, and; 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, to urge every LULAC member to ensure that their interactions with federal government operations are in keeping with this resolution.
