WHEREAS, The League of United Latin American Citizens supports the purpose of fostering and enlarging the opportunities for training, education, civil rights, job opportunities, housing, economic development and welfare of all Hispanic citizens of the United States; and
WHEREAS: all Veterans of the United States deserve special attention, especially disabled Veterans and,
WHEREAS, there presently exists unnecessary "red tape" for the provision of disability services to Veterans including qualifications such as "veteran was or is gainfully employed" and,
WHEREAS, some Veterans have to wait as long as ten (10) to fourteen (14) months on appeals to the Veterans Administration,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) strongly supports and is advocating that all responsible Veterans Administration parties make changes to their qualification policies so Veterans receive the needed services in a timely, reasonable and humane time period. LULAC is calling on all Veteran support groups to strongly back this issue.
