WHEREAS, LULAC has always supported human rights and economic opportunities for all;

WHEREAS, hundreds of thousands of immigrants of all nationalities are forced to buy or create illegal social security numbers just to obtain a drivers license to work;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that LULAC National encourage the federal government to aggressively prohibit states from requiring the use of federal social security numbers to issue a drivers license, and instead accept the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number as an alternative.
