RESOLUTION

LULAC Honor Medallion for LULAC Students

WHEREAS, Membership in the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is an important and esteemed honor that should be displayed, recognized, and celebrated, and

WHEREAS, Many organizations on college and university campuses nationwide provide their members with some way of acknowledging membership at commencement exercises,

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Arkansas LULAC met in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 11, 2002, and voted unanimously to recommend this Resolution for adoption by the entire League of United Latin American Citizens at the 2002 National Convention in Houston:

"LULAC adopt an official "Honor Chord" and/or "Honor Medallion" that may be worn by undergraduate and graduate students at commencement exercises at their respective academic institutions upon fulfillment of graduation requirements."

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the National LULAC and all LULAC councils shall use all due means to advance and advocate said Resolution, and to promote said Resolution with colleges and universities in their local communities.
