WHEREAS, LULAC is the nation's oldest and largest Hispanic organization in the United States:

WHEREAS, LULAC was founded in Corpus Christi, Texas, February 17, 1929 and is the hometown of LULAC;

WHEREAS, We the members of Texas LULAC, District 11 having duly passed a resolution recognizing Mary Helen Salazar as the First Female President of the oldest council of LULAC and for her tireless work and dedication to LULAC;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that on this 14th day of April 2002, the aforementioned resolution was duly passed at the District 11, District Convention.
