WHEREAS, people free or detained by law enforcement are also know as "Human Beings."
WHEREAS, Immigrants detained in our jails/prisons and other forms of confinement and detention are still human beings.
WHEREAS, detained persons are created by God with "Certain Inalienable Rights."
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that LULAC insist on and fights for the civil and human rights under the laws of this Great Country of the United States of America and international laws for undocumented peoples while the same are being held or confined in our institutions.
FURTHERFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that LULAC do all in its fundamental powers to bring justice to amend any injustice suffered in the areas of human and civil rights violations in conjunction with the United Nations Associations in the United States of America (UNA-USA) which chapters exist throughout the USA including Arlington (Lico Reyes, President) and Dallas (Kambiz Rafraf, President).
