WHEREAS, LULAC members recently visit4ed Goliad, Texas and visited the Presidio, site of one of Texas' historic battles for independence during Cinco de Mayo, a video presentation of the Battle of Goliad, depicted the Mexican Army as blood-thirsty savages without regard or value for life, and the video re-enacts the execution of the Texicans as a slaughter of humans with a ferocious violence, and
WHEREAS, the video exposes anyone, but particularly school children to a stereotypical image of Mexicans as "Butchers and Murderers" and to a level of violent images that will be etched in their young minds for ever, and
WHEREAS, during the LULAC visit to Goliad on Cinco de Mayo, a special day of victory for Mexicans over the French Army in Puebla, and Goliad the birth place of Gen. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, LULAC protest to the Bishop of Victoria and Corpus Christi, Texas, owners of said Presidio, where this unacceptable racist and violent video and enactments is being exhibited and shown to all visitors of this Historical site to be removed or changed immediately.
