WHEREAS, LULAC supports English Plus; and

WHEREAS, our Latino Community has served our country during all wars and conflicts; and

WHEREAS, our Latino service-persons have learned more medals and specially the Medal of Honor; and

WHEREAS, the largest veteran organization, the American Legion, has passed a resolution endorsing English only; and

WHEREAS, LULAC feels that American Legion is insulting our Latino Heroes with this English only Resolution; and

WHEREAS, the American Legion National Convention is being held at San Antonio, Texas on August 24-30 of 2001.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that LULAC National President contacts the American Legion National Commander to express our concerns;

FURTHERMORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that LULAC National officials would organize a National Campaign to inform and educate our country about English Plus.
