Washington, DC – Financial empowerment will be one of the key issues addressed at the annual Women’s Conference of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) to be held April 3-4 at the Hyatt Regency in Boston, Mass. Invited speakers include Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis.

Conference workshops will cover issues ranging from domestic violence and mental health to civil rights and immigration.
“Latinas have made tremendous strides in holding top level management positions of influence but more needs to be done,” said LULAC National President Rosa Rosales.

National and local speakers include LULAC National President Rosa Rosales, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, Judge Diana Maldonado of the Chelsea District Court, Massachusetts State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz, Rhode Island State Representative Grace Diaz and Telemundo celebrity Dr. Ana Maria Polo of “Caso Cerrado,” and many others.

Local leaders will be recognized at the Saturday breakfast and a salute to corporate sponsors will be featured at the luncheon.

On Saturday a Macy’s Spring Shopping and Fashion Reception will take place followed by a taste of Boston reception.

“We invite the public to attend our workshops focusing on empowerment, leadership and management,” said LULAC National Vice-President for Women Regla Gonzalez. “We will also be holding a silent auction on Friday.”
