January 13, 2009 For more information contact: Washington, DC - The LULAC National Women’s Conference will be held on April 3-4 in Boston, Massachusetts at the beautiful Hyatt Regency located at 1 Avenue De Lafayette. The theme for the conference is “Latina Achievers Changing the Nation.” “Latinas have made tremendous strides in holding top level management positions of influence but more needs to be done,” said LULAC National President Rosa Rosales. Incoming Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and incoming Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis will be receiving an award based on their tremendous contributions to the advancement of women around the world. Clinton and Solis have focused on advancing democracy about women’s rights on every continent. The keynote speaker at the Friday opening ceremony is Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Mayor of Boston Thomas M. Menino and the newly elected State Senator Sonia Diaz Chang.
